Job Description

Responsible for set up, operation, and basic maintenance of digital press and associated equipment. Implements standard operating procedures, set up protocols and color matching standards for print processes. Performs pre-press activities. Ensures efficient production of high-quality product within a set time frame to meet product specification and customer demand. Capable of operating multiple types of equipment through the production process. Performs tests and evaluations of processes and products for analysis by engineering staff.

  • Performs set up and operation of HP digital press. Reviews job orders to determine any special printing instructions, material specifications, colors, or quantities to be printed. Ensures proper format, appearance, and layout.  

  • Cleans and performs basic preventative maintenance on press and associated equipment. Identifies issues and makes minor repairs to presses and other equipment as needed.

  • Documents and follows detailed instructions and procedures. Implements set up parameters and standard operating procedures for printer and print-related equipment. Supports data collection, SOP development and training.

  • Assists in various prepress activities, including Front End systems work, file prep and color profiling. Establishes and implements color specifications for printed products to meet specific product or customer requirements. Develops and evaluates color profiles for printed substrate materials. Develops and refines colors to meet product, program, or project specifications.

  • Operates and maintains a variety of equipment throughout the production process, including lasers, laminators, and packaging equipment, to complete the full circle of production activities. 

  • Produces samples for testing or color correction. Verifies product specification, including printed color, to ensure acceptance to industry standard, customer specification, graphic design, or sales request. 

  • Collaborates to support the Company’s implementation of new technology, product commercialization, product development and continuous improvement. 

  • Ensures the safe operation of the facility through regular inspection of equipment and by maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

     

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of 3+ years related experience and/or training. HP Certified Printer Operator required. Adobe Illustrator experience preferred. Previous wide format or CAD table printing experience preferred. Must have strong attention to detail and quality.
