Job Description Summary
Performs a variety of moderately complex clerical and administrative tasks requiring some independent judgment related to ensuring the successful completion of the daily operations of a university administrative unit. Scripps Gerontology Center is seeking a Program Associate to support the organization's daily operations. Scripps is a successful research organization with a strong record of external funding, achieved through a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and positive impact. This position reports to the Scripps Administrative Associate.
Job Description
Essential Duties:
- Processes incoming information and/or documents regarding daily operations; makes first determination as to disposition using set standards.
- Serves as informational resource for staff; investigates and resolves problems and difficulties.
- Assists in the enforcement of policies and procedures; serves as informational resource to staff.
- Monitors and reviews projects; ensures all necessary changes are made.
- Gathers and analyzes statistical information regarding department's programs and activities; produces reports.
- Performs a variety of clerical tasks including answering phones, typing, and copying.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires nine months of coursework or training beyond high school in Business Administration and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Consideration may be given to candidates with experience working in a university setting; ability to prioritize and work under pressure in a deadline-oriented environment; experience with Microsoft office applications.
