Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Loading of goods in the yard in preparation for customer delivery.
Make sure all loads are complete, accurate and properly secured for transport to job-sites.
Safely operating a vehicle in compliance with all DOT regulations to deliver goods to a customer’s job site.
Unload materials to customers’ satisfaction while ensure the security of the material and the proper placement of material at the job site while maintaining safety standards.
Ensure that receipt of materials is acknowledged prior to leaving the delivery site.
Pick-up materials from a job site when required.
Record all pertinent delivery and pick-up information and complete all required delivery and pick-up paperwork.
Be alert to be able to assess possible product damage when loading and unloading products and report that information to your supervisor.
Operate a forklift for loading and unloading purposes.
Assist in yard or warehouse when not making deliveries.
Perform required vehicle and equipment inspections and follow up on “action items” related to the inspection reports.
Report all vehicle and equipment maintenance issues promptly.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications of the ideal candidate include:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
Pass background and drug screening.
Material handling experience (by hand and utilizing equipment)
Experience loading and unloading trucks using a forklift
Experience operating a box truck or similar vehicle
Knowledge of state and federal regulations as they relate to the proper and safe operation of motor vehicles.
Strong communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 80lbs.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work independently without close supervision.
Ability to work effectively in a team based environment.
