Guthrie Electrician - Plant Services - Full Time in PA, United States

Position Summary: Responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and building electrical system components. The work includes inspecting, testing, cleaning, preventative maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and electrical system components.

Education, License & Cert: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: 5 years of electrical maintenance or construction experience required.

Essential Functions:

  • Install and/or replace new lighting and lighting control systems.

  • Repairs, tests, replaces, and installs electrical circuits and equipment. Examines and tests elements of electrical systems to locate obvious faults, such as blown fuses, defective transformers, inoperative relays, short circuits, broken wires, loose connections, worn motor brushes and inoperative motor starters. Replaces faulty switches, sockets, plugs, fuses, insulators, gears, wires and other elements of electrical systems, fixtures, and appliances. Installs various types of conduits, electrical devices, motors, lighting fixtures and heating equipment.

  • Able to read, understand, interpret, and work from simple wiring diagrams of equipment, control system and blueprints of electrical installations.

  • Install and maintain signal systems such as low voltage nurse call systems, paging systems, etc. by following wiring diagrams and manuals. Install and maintain lighting fixtures, ballasts, lamps, etc. 5. Perform regular tests of equipment such as emergency generators, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting.

  • Coordinate with Facilities Manager, Supervisor, and other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.

  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.

  • Maintains Vehicle, tools, and equipment in a safe working condition.

  • Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.

Other Duties:

  • Travel to regional offices is required.

  • After hours and weekend emergency call required.
