Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Scope of Position: Provides support to manufacturing, quality, and engineering departments by maintaining and developing quality systems, technical documentation and periodic reporting.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Support the department’s safety initiatives, apply knowledge of industrial safety standards, and identify health hazards associated with metal fabrication in an industrial setting

  • Support Quality Engineering on implementing and maintaining Quality systems to meet the requirements of production, ISO 9001 and TL 9000

  • Support Engineering in the Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns/ customer concerns

  • Support training to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the plants MOC and quality management systems

  • Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen, lean methods, etc.

  • Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality alerts, etc.

  • Provide training, coaching and facilitation for EtQ

  • Ability to execute process audit, prepare reports, communicate results

  • Routinely work and interact with an interdisciplinary team

Required Education: 2 year degree in technical writing or equivalent

Work Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in similar position

  • ISO 9001, TL 9000

  • Successful track record of performance in previous work experiences

Required Skills:

  • Strong Technical Writing skills

  • Thorough, disciplined

  • Excellent computer skills (Including, but not limited to: Windows, Office, Visio, Project Manager, SPC Excel, Minitab)

  • Experience administrating quality systems (EtQ)

  • Strong customer service acumen

Desired Skills:

  • Excellent communications skills

  • Experience in manufacturing and assembly operations

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts

The range for this position is $54,362.00 - $74,748.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
