In this role, you will be responsible for offering technical support both in the field and office settings at the Spotted Lantern Fly (SLF) regional offices to the Plant Inspection Program Specialists (PIPS) and other staff members to ensure smooth and effective operations.

Your duties will include conducting tree inventory for host trees of the Spotted Lanternfly, as well as ground pest surveys as needed. Additionally, you will be involved in activities such as direct suppression, biocontrol, trapping, and sampling to manage the Spotted Lanternfly population effectively.

You will also be tasked with setting up field study plots when necessary, and collecting and organizing field data in electronic form. Furthermore, you will be required to prepare written reports as needed and supervise the Forest Insect Pest Aide (FIPA) 1 field staff to ensure tasks are carried out efficiently.

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This position will continue based on funding. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Palm, Pennsylvania. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: An associate's degree in forest technology; or Completion of equivalent formal education in forestry. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree. Conditions of Employment: This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
