Stanford Health Care Graduate Student Administrative Intern in Palo Alto, California

Day - 08 Hour (United States of America)

The intern will work in the Pharmacy Services department for a year-long internship (ending in Summer 2025), contributing 10 hours per week. Their projects will primarily focus on addressing social determinants of health (SDOH) and promoting health equity, which will also involve them providing critical statistical support for related research studies. In addition, the intern will assist in developing educational materials aimed at advancing health equity. This role offers valuable practical experience, while also providing the intern an opportunity to improve healthcare outcomes for underserved populations.

A Brief Overview

The purpose of this job is to gain practical experience in health care administration and operations by contributing to a specific project and/or department operations.

What you will do

  • Independently research and analyze data from internal and external sources

  • Interface with clinicians, employees, and other leaders of the organization to understand perspectives and/or share findings

  • Draft deliverables and other project related materials (e.g., meeting agendas, project work plans, action item logs)

  • Present project findings and results to internal audiences

Education Qualifications

  • Educational background in public health or biostatistics highly desired

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University

  • Enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited College or University for the 2024/2025 school year

Experience Qualifications

  • Experience conducting statistical analysis (with R programming) highly desired

  • Project management experience highly desired

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to discuss and solve complex problems in area of expertise

  • Demonstrated ability to create direction and work plans for day-to-day and project work

  • Basic knowledge of health care technology and basic business technology

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $28.61 - $36.47 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
