Delta County School District Part time Food Service Cook in Paonia, Colorado
POSITION: Part time Food Service Cook - Paonia K-8 School
4 Hours a day needed for the 2024-2025 School Year (position Start in August 2024).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The Cook demonstrates professional behavior and promotes positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and others to build customer support for school food service programs. The Cook at a kitchen is responsible for the on-site production, service, and cleanup of the lunch meal. The Cook maintains a clean, safe work environment by following other sanitation principles in food handling and equipment use. The Cook practices proper food preparation, food holding and display techniques that assure high quality food products and customer satisfaction. The Cook follows procedures to control food waste, control costs, and comply with federal guidelines. The Cook promotes healthful eating for students and demonstrates a positive school food service image.
REQUIREMENTS: Position Qualifications: *High school diploma or equivalent. *Basic mathematics, communication, and computer skills. *Food preparation experience or training. *Ability to lift 50 pounds, carry 50 pounds, and push /pull 50 pounds of force.
Special Requirements of the Position: *Ability to apply principles of quantity, food production and food safety. *Ability to plan and organize workload. *Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
WAGE: $15.60 per hour depending on experience.
SHIFT: Part time, 4 hours per day beginning in August 2024.
JOB SITE: Paonia K-8 School, Paonia, Colorado.
