MUFG Employee Relations Specialist - Fixed term contract 9 Months in Paris, France

Overview of the Department/Section

Paris HR department develops and executes the HR strategy for MUFG Bank, Paris branch and MUFG Securities Europe N.V., Paris branch, as well as providing a fully integrated, comprehensive HR service. The department counts 2 HRBPs, 1 Payroll Manager and 1 HR Generalist, and is led by Paris Head of HR.

Main Purpose of the Role

In the context of a maternity cover, MUFG Paris HR Department is looking for an Employee Relations Specialist in order to manage specific employee relations projects and provide guidance to the HRBPs and payroll manager in terms of employment and social security law matters. The role will report into the Head of HR.

Key Responsibilities

Create and update our HR policies and company agreements in accordance with the Group policy framework and internal rules, in partnership with our Compliance colleagues

Build a comprehensive framework of HR consequence management, in accordance with the Group’s requirements

Provide mentorship, guidance and advice on works council/union/labour relations matters as appropriate

Curate and deliver relevant training and education to improve the department’s and managers’ effectiveness and drive better ER decisions

Participate in the identification and delivery of ER projects/continuous improvement initiatives to improve the policy framework, increase knowledge within the firm and expand ER capability within the team.

Manage or participate on special projects / programs / continuous improvement initiatives requiring ER stakeholder input, as needed.

Foster strong working relationships with our EMEA Employment Legal team

Design communication tools and deliver trainings to managers and staff about employment law in France and Company HR policies.

Work Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in an international group, an employment law firm or HR consultancy company.

  • Experience in a global/international financial services organization is a plus.

  • Fluent in English.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate and educate.

Results driven, with a strong sense of accountability.

Self-sufficient and able to work with little direct supervision.

A track record of demonstrating a strong work ethic, integrity, and personal accountability.

Fluency in English essential, both written and verbal.

Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Thorough knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential.

A collaborative approach, with the ability to partner with all members of the HR department and with any member of the organization.
