Company Name: Deer Valley Resort Company, LLC d/b/a Deer Valley Resort Job Title: Cook II Dates of Temporary, Fulltime Employment: 11/30/2024-4/20/2025 Number of Openings: 24 Job Description: Cooks II will be responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food items in a restaurant, and ensuring the cleanliness of their work areas. Experience Requirement: 12 months of culinary experience in a fine-dining or high-volume environment at a high-end restaurant, resort, or private club required. Education Requirement: No Level of Education Required. Training or Certification Requirement: No Training Required. Special Requirements for the Job: One (1) year of culinary experience in a fine-dining or high-volume environment at a high end restaurant, resort, or private club. Background checks are completed in new hire onboarding with Human Resources. Drug screening is completed randomly, if there is a worksite injury, or if there is damage to Deer Valley property that is more than $150. On-the-Job Training provided. Will Train. Job location: Snow Park Lodge - 2250 Deer Valley Dr. S., Park City, UT 84060, Silver Lake Lodge -- 7600 Royal St., Park City, UT 84060; Empire Lodge -- 9200 Marsac Ave., Park City, UT 84060; Stag Lodge -- 8200 Royal St., Park City, UT 84060 Hours Per Week: 35 Frequency of Pay: Bi-weekly Days and Shifts: Following Shifts available 7 days a week including weekends and holidays. Work hours from: 6:00am - 2:00pm, 8:00am - 4:00pm, 1:00pm - 10:00pm, 1:00pm - 9:30pm, 1:00pm - 9:30pm, 7:00am - 3:00pm, 9:00pm - 6:00am, shifts based on the time of the season, daylight, and need. Hourly Wage: $17.61/hr (based on merit and past experience with our company) Overtime Possible: Overtime may be available at $26.42/hr. Possible Wage Increase: Deer Valley offers pay raises based on performance and merit. Each employee receives a performance review at the end of each season, based on these reviews employees will receive a merit from 0% - 5% for the start of the next winter season. Employee's may receive spot raises based on their performance. Pay Period: A single work week, starting Saturday, will be used to calculate hourly wages, and will be paid Bi-weekly. Housing is offered and optional. Cost of housing, if accepted, is $119 - $185.50 per week, subject to change. If used, total cost of housing will be deducted from paycheck. A $250 partially refundable security deposit is required, to be paid directly to employer upon acceptance of housing. Up to $200 of deposit may be returned to the employee based on condition of housing, at the employer's sole discretion, at the end of the employment period. Employer also provides a list of available contacts in the Park City area that staff can contact directly. Transportation is not provided. All worksites are accessible by the Park City Transit system. Optional Deductions from Paycheck: meals, 401K, health insurance, non-returned company items, housing rent and fines, employee entertainment events and functions. Fringe Benefits: Meal plans are $3.50/meal, ski lift passes are free, retail discounts range from 10-20% off in all Deer Valley outlets Disclosures: Visa Fees: The employer will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker (but need not include passport expenses or other charges primarily for the benefit of the worker). Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law. Three-Fourths Guarantee: In accordance with 20 CFR 655.20(f); the employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays n each 12-week peri od of the total employment period. Inbound/Outbound Transportation: Transportation and subsistence costs from the place from which the worker has to travel, whether in the U.S. or abroad, to the place of employment will be provided to the worker by check if the worker completes 50% of the period of employment. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable cost of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts, consistent with 20 CFR.20(j)(1)(i) and 20 CFR 655.20(j)(1)(ii). Tools: The employer will provide to the worker, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assign in accordance with 20 CFR 655.20(k).
