HD Microsystems has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer based in Parlin, NJ. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing raw material and consumable changes, engaging with suppliers during audits and quality meetings to drive improvement, and monitoring incoming raw material quality using SPC tools. change and working collaboratively in a global diverse and inclusive environment.
HD MicroSystems (HDM) is a 50-50 joint venture of Resonac and DuPont. HD MicroSystems is the world’s largest supplier of polyimide and PBO precursor chemistries specifically engineered for microelectronic applications. Applied and cured by our customers, these materials transform into polyimide and PBO films with unique end use properties. HDM's product line is broad, consisting of photosensitive coatings, standard non-photosensitive coatings, high temperature adhesives, optically clear coatings, and a full line of complementary ancillary products.
Please note this is an onsite position and the team works remote 1 day a week.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Quality
Establish and maintain quality standards for raw materials and final products for use in polyimide manufacturing
Monitor incoming raw material quality using SPC tools and engage with suppliers when issues arise
Support troubleshooting of supplied material issues in manufacturing, facilitate Root Cause Investigations (RCIs) related to the supplied material’s impact on final product performance, and develop mitigation strategies to prevent excursions
Manage supplier performance by conducting regular audits, quality meetings, and tracking improvement activities
Provide performance feedback to suppliers based on quarterly scorecards and convey semiconductor industry expectations regarding management of change and process control
Drive the improvement of quality and performance of suppliers' quality systems, including management of change and notification protocols, root cause investigations, documentation and reporting, calibration, and non-conforming material review systems.
Fully understand supplier’s manufacturing process, control methods, measurement, and quality systems to develop raw material FMEAs
Customer and Quality Systems Support
Lead projects to improve Quality Management Systems (QMS)
Support High-Tier customers through performances inquiries, quality agreements, meetings and complaints
Use SPC Tools and Statistical knowledge to drive improvements in Quality Assurance
Serve as Voice of Customer with Integrated Operations team – sharing insights on material performance and customer feedback
Change & Project Management
Drive raw material and sub-supplier changes through the change management process
Ensure new and existing raw material supply plans align with global strategy
Use risk assessment tools to determine second source opportunities and alternate agreements with current suppliers
Evaluate new suppliers for potential benefits as primary or secondary suppliers
Oversee and execute qualification planning, trials, and data packages for new raw materials/suppliers, or supplier process changes
Coordinate analytical tasks and work with subject matter experts to understand raw material characteristics. Work with stakeholders to link key parameters of material analysis to process/product performance
Your Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, or a related engineering discipline is required.
5+ years combined experience in manufacturing, Development/Scale-up, Quality or Continuous Improvement Engineering is required.
Semiconductor industry or related experience preferred.
Previous process and quality engineering experience is preferred
Demonstrated experience with risk tools such as C&E and FMEAs
Demonstrated understanding of statistical techniques including DOE, Control Charts, Gage R&R, ANOVA is required.
Experience with External Communications to Vendors and/or Customers is required
Polyimide related knowledge, analytical and material characterization techniques, and results interpretation skills are desirable.
Preferred: Experience working and managing projects in a global environment (both internal and external) with communications across cultures
Required to have proficient computer skills such as advanced Excel and Powerpoint use.
6-sigma project certification is preferred.
Experience using a statistical software program (eg, Minitab, JMP™) is required
