Marotta Controls, Inc. Finance Intern (Summer 2025) in Parsippany, New Jersey
As a Finance Intern at Marotta Controls you will help support our Finance and Operations teams with various ad hoc analytical projects. Depending on the candidate skill-set, the Finance Intern will apply their education to the following types of activities in a professional setting while gaining skills and experience:
Gathering and analyzing financial and operational data to derive meaningful insights and generate recommendations.
Creation of various ad hoc presentations and analytical models to support ongoing analysis and decision-making in the Finance function.
Ownership over individual project(s) to be presented once completed, or at the conclusion of internship, to the leadership team.
Primary / Key Responsibilities:
Interfaces with various members of the Finance team (Business Unit Finance Manager, Cost and Financial Analysts) to gather data to support analytical projects.
Assist Finance periodically with reviewing and contributing to dashboard designs to automate recurring financial reporting.
Support the Finance team, as needed, with certifying the accuracy of data migration and reporting across several platforms (using the Marotta ERP system and the programs that it interfaces with, i.e., Power BI, Tableau or equivalent platforms).
Potential individual projects are:
Testing and creating work instructions for recurring reporting tasks in a new quoting and estimating system in development.
Benchmarking a business process using data from the American Productivity & Quality Center (APQC)
Credit / Risk Analysis leveraging Moody’s Aerospace and Defense Guide.
Business Operating Cost Analysis leveraging indirect functional cost data.
Basic Qualifications:
Superior Microsoft Excel skills
Strong verbal/written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, as well as any and all outside agents/agencies
Highly computer literate, with MS Office/PC expertise, and demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple assignments simultaneously within a short period of time.
Must be a US Citizen
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with all levels of the organization, from individual contributors to the leadership team, and across functions. This will include working with Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Financial Planning & Analysis, Cost Estimating, and Corporate Finance.
