Description:
PAINTER - Preparing Prototype Vehicles in an Automotive Studio Environment for various Automotive Shows.
spraying water base paint and surfacing models
• Requires knowledge of body surfacing and an understanding of how to spline surfaces
• Ability to remove and add surface, as required by customer, and have them flow correctly
• Ability to straighten or add feature lines to body surfaces
• Interpret prints and diagrams regarding project
• Knowledge of all current processes and latest materials
• Proficient in use of current materials
• Ability to apply spray, pearls, tri-coats, water based, and experimental colors
• Knowledge of current urethanes clearcoats
• Knowledge of undercoats, primers, sealers, and waterborne materials
• Experienced in color sanding and blocking clearcoats
• Able to work clearcoats to a showcar quality mirror finish (no orange peel)
• Ability to make repairs without distorting color and match to adjacent panels
• Experience using all types of spray equipment (i.e. hvlp, siphon, airbrush)
• Full understanding of using correct ppe, and fresh air equipment
• Fine line detailing and graphics application per drawings, sketches and/or a designer’s verbal directions
