We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager with strong technical expertise in mainframe production support and a solid understanding of Java development . This role involves managing a team, driving production support initiatives, and ensuring high availability of critical systems, while also enhancing processes and integrating Java-based solutions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Here's what you can expect on a typical day:

  • Lead the Mainframe Production Support Team: You will manage and mentor teams responsible for maintaining and supporting mainframe applications, ensuring high system availability and minimal downtime.

  • Incident Management: Ensure swift incident resolution, root cause analysis, and long-term preventive measures are in place to support critical mainframe systems.

  • Java Development Collaboration: Work with Java development teams to support, integrate, and enhance Java-based systems that interact with mainframe environments.

  • Team Leadership: You will motivate, manage, and develop dynamic teams, fostering a positive environment to deliver effective execution of support and development initiatives.

  • Technical Expertise: Guide your team on the support, maintenance, and optimization of mainframe applications (COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2), with occasional oversight of Java development tasks.

  • Project Execution: Ensure the team delivers high-quality support solutions focusing on system security, resilience, and performance optimization.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Your ability to communicate clearly will keep the team and leaders informed about system performance and initiatives.

  • Strategic Oversight: Provide strategic direction and contribute to system improvements, ensuring alignment with business goals.

  • Continuous Improvement: Lead efforts to improve processes, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance overall team efficiency.

  • Risk Management: Identify, mitigate, and address any risks related to system support or development.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

  • You’ll have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 10+ years of experience in application development and support, with at least 5+ years in managing mainframe production support teams.

  • Technical Skills: Strong expertise in mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2) and basic Java development

  • Proven experience in managing production support teams , ensuring high system availability and incident resolution.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience mentoring technical teams.

  • Experience with cross-functional collaboration and managing projects across different technologies, including mainframe and Java.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders and align technical work with business objectives.

  • Experience with ITIL frameworks or DevOps practices is a plus.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity or commissions. The compensation for this role is $88,800.00 - $237,960.00 / Year
