Huntington Health seeks an experienced and collaborative leader who is passionate about quality, safety and enhancing the staff and patient experience to serve as its next Senior Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer.As one of the leading hospitals in Southern California, HH is a 544‑bed, Level II trauma facility that offers highly specialized care focused on service excellence and exemplary clinical outcomes. The hospital provides tertiary and quaternary care that is unique to the San Gabriel Valley, including a comprehensive stroke center, a Level III NICU, a sophisticated and complex care heart center and cancer center. Huntington Health is an affiliate of Cedars-Sinai Health System and additionally works in partnership with other academic institutions across the greater Los Angeles region. HH provides innovative teaching programs through their graduate medical education programs across multiple disciplines and professions.Huntington Health was the first hospital in the San Gabriel Valley to achieve Magnet-designation in 2011, 2015 and once again in 2021 by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. It is one of 26 hospitals in California to have received this distinct honor – the gold standard in nursing – and among only 10% of hospitals nationwide to hold Magnet designation. Additionally, Huntington Health is a Blue Distinction Center for Maternity Care and recipient of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses Beacon Award of Excellence.This is an exciting time for a new leader to build upon an established foundation of success and continue to transform the way Huntington Health operates and provides care to patients and families served. As Huntington Health continues to evolve, the next CNO will be a contemporary leader who is able to articulate new strategies and ideas and nurture a culture that encourages forward-thinking while focusing on alignment with the organization’s strategic goals. In partnership with the Chief Clinical Officer, the CNO will lead and implement quality, safety and performance improvement initiatives to ensure continued superior clinical quality and favorable financial outcomes with high satisfaction levels for patients, nursing staff, clinical staff and physician partners in the communities served.

The ideal candidate will be a highly engaging, visible leader who inspires teams to work closely toward a shared vision. This leader will be proactive, visible, operationally-focused, and results-oriented, with demonstrated success in achieving positive outcomes in complex, dynamic, and multifaceted environments. The CNO will work with a team of intelligent, mission-driven staff that drive and support all patient care services functions in the organization. The ability to balance strategy and innovation with stability and structure in a service-oriented way will be essential. Notably, the CNO will have successfully worked directly and collaborated with physicians and hospital leaders. This new leader will bring a leadership style aligned with Huntington Health’s mission and values while embracing and building upon the supportive and collaborative culture of the organization.

EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:Previous and diverse background in nursing and senior management experience.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:Required:Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)

SKILLS:Financial knowledge, including operational and capital budgets. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Strong communication skills.
