Job Description
Engineering Manager 2 will be responsible for :
Manage, provide direct oversight, and administration for electrical engineers working at the planning yard.
Provide technical oversight for engineering and design projects related to power, IC, and control systems aboard several classes of ships.
Coordinate with Navy, other managers, internal/external customers, and other shipyard departments to support product development.
Knowledge and familiarity of military specifications, specs, and standards.
Knowledge and familiarity of Engineering and planning yard processes and procedures.
Recruit, mentor, train, and provide guidance for new employees.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school of engineering and 8 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering, and design or equivalent OR a Master's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering, and design.
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of Planning Yard processes and inter-relationships
Must demonstrate teaming and relationship-building experience
Experience with drawing development and system design for shipboard electrical systems including: power, lighting, Ship controls, interior communication, and navigation
Experience with the LPD17, LHD1, LHA6, and LCS Classes of ships from an Engineering, Design, or operational perspective
