This Remote Position is for an Optics Senior Business Development Manager.
Job Summary: With minimum direction, performs business diagnostics and develops a business strategy for key VSP Optics accounts. Exercises in-depth knowledge of the organization's services, products, and technology. Identifies areas of growth within assigned territory for strategic customers connecting them with VSP Optics' solutions. Direct responsibility for the achievement of sales goals within assigned territory. Acts as subject matter expert within Optics as well as a liaison across the line of business sales teams to support VSP Vision growth goals.
Responsibilities: Through strategic consultation with high-value (potential) customers, formulate and implement customized Optics business solutions for practices Alone or in conjunction with other LOB teams, connects business plan objectives with VSP programs, initiatives, and offerings. Collaborate with other sales and business personnel to identify top Unity and Premier conversion opportunities. Introduce new products and technology into the customer base in support of business strategy and practice growth goals Identifies areas of opportunity for both the account and VSP Optics line of business Monitor customer performance to ensure appropriate growth results and practice education needs are met. Cultivate and develop strong business relationships with customers including doctor alliance groups, strategic accounts, doctor-owned labs, and cross line of business partners. Actively pursues knowledge and information on developing market trends and new technology in the optical industry Staying current, if not ahead of market trends that impact or could benefit professional optometry. Present market data insights and benchmarking, including lens enhancements, materials performance analytics, and dispensing data to provide customers with information and tools aimed at improving overall practice results. Develops and implements actionable sales plans focused on account needs to ensure their long-term success while also increasing profitable revenue for VSP Optics. Promote and sell VSP Optics products and services, and support Unity distributors (Elite, Allied) to ensure achievement of sales goals within assigned territory. Educate and assist customers with product and business decisions, and practice management strategies Maintains and demonstrates a firm understanding of all ophthalmic dispensing and business practices within accounts Actively seeks and maintains competitive industry knowledge. Presents clear and consistent product and program messages to account Shares up-to-date program knowledge to build practice revenue Manages various priorities and relationships between the practice and VSP Vision business partners in order to achieve results. Operate as an objective liaison between VSP Optics and customers to ensure service levels and expectations are met with appropriate and effective solutions.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience. Eight years of direct outside sales, account management, business development, or client relationship experience, preferably in the optical industry. Advanced written and verbal communication, influencing and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated professionalism and leadership in dealing with situations involving controversy and conflict. Demonstrated ability to balance customer needs with VSP Optics' and VSP Global objectives. Demonstrated ability to build relationships with key decision-makers and industry leaders. Proven ability to navigate complex situations through the organizational landscape and with multiple stakeholders. Ability to drive results through informal authority, serve as a consultant to internal and external business partners, representing users and customers in every thought and interaction. Strong attention to detail, organizational, and customer service skills; excellent presentation s ills. Demonstrated track record in meeting goals with major account responsibility. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Strong business aptitude and problem-solving skills. Strategic skills to support envisioning work, planning, and forecasting. Ability to travel for business as needed (up to 70% of the time). Clean DMV record. Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of job duties.
