The Role

Responsible for production, equipment installation, outfitting and testing. Monitors direct labor expenditures against tasks performed to assure effective utilization of resources. Provide solutions to assure work is accomplished at minimum cost. Directs, coordinates and provides leadership for pre and post launch. Directs the allocation of resources to maintain schedule adherence. Approves manpower plans. Assure hire plans have been developed to support manpower needs and manage to those plans. Monitor and control direct labor expenses to ensure achievement of the financial goals. Place significant attention and focus on EVMS cost control/cost management to ensure Ship Program viability. Responsible for supporting the Ship Program Manager in the identification of risks and opportunities and supporting the risk/opportunity register action plans. Develop and implement plans and overall strategies to minimize cost, schedule, quality and risks for the construction of the ship. Assists in the preparation and review of schedules for purposes of coordinating and integrating all production work, including starts/closeouts of work authorizations. Perform cost trade off studies for all significant cost and production enhancements that affect labor and material. Coordinates compartment completion and ensures ship readiness to support test plan. Gives final concurrence for assembly erection and module integration after assurance that all scheduled work has been completed, lock-out equipment is landed, production facilities have been properly arranged and the assembly/module is clean.

Must Have

Bachelors' Degree or equivalent and (10) years of applicable technical experience which includes complex systems in military vessels. A candidate must have experience in and a thorough understanding of shipbuilding construction, manufacturing processes and operations. Must have experience with complex systems in military vessels. A combination of education and experience may be used in lieu of degree..

Apprentice School Graduate

Minimum of Two (2) years of prior experience at the General Superintendent level
