Responsibilities You will manage and direct a quality assurance program and provide oversight of industrialized shipbuilding contractors engaged in the maintenance, repair, and/or overhaul of naval ships under construction. You will direct, guide, monitor and evaluate the progress of work and review work assigned to the division and branch heads. You will develop internal methods, procedures, and policies governing the operation of assigned functions and responsibilities. You will resolve problems utilizing quality assurance and management techniques. You will capture performance of contractor deficiencies and report trends and corrective action to improve performance. You will collaborate with chiefs of other activities and negotiate, decide on, and coordinate work-related changes affecting other activities. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band (NH-03) or grade level (or GS-13 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing quality assurance programs to ensure the implementation of quality policies, procedures, or standards in support of shipbuilding requirements. Education Additional Information This hiring activity, within Naval Sea System Command (NAVSEA) Headquarters, has converted to the Acquisition Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) which is an alternate personnel system. The NH-04 broadband is equivalent to the GS-14 and GS-15 grade levels. This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority (DHA) for Acquisition Demo (AcqDemo) Business & Technical Management to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
