In-Home Childcare Teacher Job Description

Job Title: In-Home Childcare Teacher Location: West Pasco Reports To: Owner/Director

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and resourceful In-Home Childcare Teacher to join our team (Bilingual Preferred) . The ideal candidate will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children while also maintaining cleanliness and preparing healthy meals. This role involves teaching, engaging in multiage age-appropriate activities, cleaning and sanitizing the childcare space, and preparing nutritious meals to support children's development and well-being.


Key Responsibilities:
Childcare and Education
  • Provide high-quality care to children in a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Supervise children during play, meal times, and rest periods.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and bilingual learning environment.
Cleaning and Sanitizing
  • Clean and sanitize toys, furniture, and other childcare equipment daily.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized childcare space, including play areas, eating areas, and bathrooms.
  • Follow strict hygiene and sanitization protocols to ensure the health and safety of children and staff and WAC.
  • Dispose of trash and clean up after activities to maintain a clutter-free environment.
Cooking and Meal Preparation
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual children's needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
  • Ensure all food safety and handling practices are followed.
  • Introduce healthy eating habits through engaging mealtime routines.
Health and Safety
  • Monitor children for signs of illness or distress and administer basic first aid as needed.
  • Ensure children's safety during indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Adhere to state and local childcare WAC regulations and licensing requirements.
Parent Communication
  • Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress, activities, and any concerns.
  • Collaborate with families to meet individual children's needs and preferences.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required);
  • Early childhood education or related field preferred such as initial certificate, Associate or bachelors.
  • Provide Negative TB test so it is verified in merit.
  • Completion of required childcare training prior to the first day of work, including but not limited to:
    • Safe Sleep Practices
    • Mandated Reporter Training
    • CPR and First Aid Certification
    • Child Development Basics
    • Must have prior to start day
  • Experience working with children in a In-home childcare setting and or Center childcare, teaching, or caregiving role.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing best practices, especially in childcare settings.
  • Basic cooking skills and knowledge of nutrition for young children.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and engage in physical activities with children.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Bilingual skills (preferred but not required).
