Altium Packaging Sr Supply Chain Manager in Paulsboro, New Jersey

The Supply Chain Manager is located onsite at a customer’s fill plant in Paulsboro, NJ and is responsible for the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies required for production and operations. This role ensures inventory levels are accurate and that materials are supplied on time to meet production and operational schedules. This role also manages a team of supply chain specialists and coordinates with procurement, production, and other departments to maintain optimal stock levels. The role will provide a high level of customer service for key strategic customers and will be the primary contact and act as a “concierge” between the customer and Altium.

Essential Functions- Roles/Responsibilities

Inventory Management:

  • Oversee the monitoring and recording of inventory levels.

  • Manage stock levels to ensure adequate supplies while minimizing excess.

  • Implement inventory control systems and ensure regular audits are conducted.

  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory counts.

Material Planning:

  • Collaborate with production, procurement, and other departments to forecast material needs.

  • Develop material requirements based on production schedules and lead times.

  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.

Logistics and Distribution:

  • Supervise the storage, handling, and movement of materials within the facility.

  • Ensure materials are stored in a safe, organized manner in compliance with safety regulations.

  • Oversee inbound shipping processes, including receiving and dispatching of materials.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, train, and manage a team of supply chain specialists.

  • Set performance standards, provide feedback, and ensure employee development.

  • Promote a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve material handling processes, reduce waste, and optimize efficiency.

  • Use technology (e.g., ERP systems) to enhance inventory control and workflow management.

Supplier and Vendor Relations:

  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-time delivery and high-quality materials.

  • Resolve any material shortages or quality issues in a timely manner.

  • Hold suppliers accountable for raw material quality and quickly resolve plant rejections with suppliers.

  • Lead supplier meetings and drive supplier performance improvements.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure all material handling activities comply with stated policies and safety standards.

  • Actively participates in Supplier Corrective Action requests and claim collection in areas of supplier quality and service problems.

  • Prepare reports on inventory levels, material usage, and performance metrics for customer review.

Required Education and Experience

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Solid understanding of inventory control systems, supply chain processes, and procurement practices.

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools, such as problem-solving, root cause analysis, LEAN/Six Sigma principles.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office software, with a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Proficient in using JD Edwards ERP system.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in materials management, logistics, or supply chain roles in a manufacturing environment.

  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to warehouse and material handling.
