4 Full Time Seasonal H-2A Jobs available 11/18/2024 - 12/18/2024. Specialty Crop Farm Labor Contractors LLC at Glenn Laurie and Carl Laurie.

Work is performed during light rain and in high humidity and in temperatures ranging from 100 (+) degrees to 35 degrees F outdoors. Work will also be performed in a warehouse type environment where it is frequently dusty, noisy and objectionable odors are present. Work will be done in areas that are not sheltered or climate controlled and are often exposed to heat, cold and inclement weather. Workers will work on their feet in bent, stooped, and crouched positions for long periods of time. Workers will make fast, simple, repeated movements of fingers, hands, and wrists. Workers must be flexible and able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs. Workers will use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects, such as filled grape crates. Workers will frequently lift crates ranging in weight up to 50 lbs. Skin and clothing are frequently wet and soiled. Workers will supply their own work clothes.

Workers may be required to perform work on the farm that is incidental to farming the crops listed in the application, such as performing hand cultivation tasks, bedding and potting plants, weeding or hoeing, cleaning and repairing farm buildings, pallets, seed beds, racks, grounds, mowing, weed eating, operate tractor/farm equipment, sprayers, incidental crop set up, move irrigation pipes and equipment, gardening, weeding and scrubbing, hand-harvesting, etc. Workers may complete simple maintenance. Workers will remove trash and debris and complete landscape maintenance. Workers will clean and maintain work environment and equipment.

Pruning: While pruning vines or canes, workers will receive proper tools for the particular job, i.e., saw, pruners, chain saws, loppers, and hand snips. These tools will be returned to the employer at the end of the task. Workers will be assigned rows of vines and must prune vines and canes according to the size of the vine and the need for the pruning. Workers must take care not to damage vines that are not being pruned. Workers must prune vines according to the above reference requirements. In some instances, pruning will be done from a ladder weighing up to 30 lbs. All workers must be able to lift and carry ladder, as well as work from the top of the ladder. Workers must remove all resulting materials from the vines rendered from performing pruning tasks. When pruning is complete on each vine, each worker is required to rake and scatter the resulting brush in the center of the tractor/equipment middles.

Farm, Field, Shed, Warehouse and Storage Sanitation: All workers will be responsible for picking up trash, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping floors and other sanitation duties. Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.

Vineyard: Workers involved in vineyard maintenance may be required to pick up roots and limbs, strip suckers or unwanted growth from vines, remove vines, and strap and tie vines, and removal and replacing wire and posts. Employer will provide all equipment. Instruction will be given for each task and expectations will be communicated to workers. The expectations for these duties will change based on crop and weather conditions.
