Position Summary: The Decision Support and Business Analytics Analyst I reports to the Manager, Decision Support and Business Analytics. Under general supervision, the Decision Support and Business Analytics Analyst I collaborates with Analytics and greater Information Solutions team members, stakeholders, and leaders across the enterprise to support decision making, strategy, performance improvement, and other key operational goals through valid, relevant, and quality decision support reports, dashboards, and other business intelligence tools. This role assists in the development and maintenance of analytical resources for the organization to support leadership in strategic decision making and ongoing optimization of organizational performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and testing of reports.

  • Produce timely and accurate recurring reports as specified by stakeholders and team members.

  • Fulfill ad-hoc report requests in collaboration with team members and stakeholders.

  • Identify ad-hoc requests that may be opportunities for training requestors on self-service tools and communicate as appropriate.

  • Maintain timely communication and collaboration with other team members, leadership, and customers.

  • Assist in projects involving analytics to improve and optimize organizational performance.

  • Maintain documentation and progress updates for project planning and tracking.

  • Assist team members to identify and gather detailed business requirements.

  • Maintain timely communication and collaboration with other team members, leadership, and customers.

  • High Quality Customer Service: Provide consistent high quality customer service for all projects, initiatives and requests from stakeholders.

  • Provide timely and professional communications throughout the request-to-delivery production cycle.

  • Ensure deliverables are well-tested, accurate, and reliable.

Function in a thoughtful consultative approach that ensures effectiveness of requirements gathering, integration of actively-solicited intermediate feedback during development, and solutions that assist our stakeholders in accomplishing the ultimate goals underlying their request.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a business or quantitative discipline (accounting, finance, information systems, statistics, informatics, etc.) or related field, required.

Experience:

  • Experience with healthcare industry benchmarking and developing metrics within a performance management framework, required.

Special Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills and experience

  • Working knowledge of Data Visualization software (i.e., Power BI, Qlik, Tableau).

  • Strong working knowledge of MS SQL Server and SQL transactional query, including SSMS, SSRS, and SSIS.

  • Demonstrated advanced competency with MS Excel (i.e., pivot tables, Excel VBA programming)

  • Familiarity with and understanding of statistical risk modeling and predictive analytics in healthcare.

  • Experience with healthcare industry benchmarking and developing metrics within a performance management framework.

  • Must be able to demonstrate solid analytical skills in terms of ability to identify needed data, analyze the data, and report it in a format that is easily comprehensible to customers.

  • Strong interpersonal; client relations; fact finding; analytical; project management; presentation and communication (written/verbal) skills are needed.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report troubleshooting ability.

  • Experience working with analytical, visualization, business intelligence and EHR reporting tools preferred.

  • Impeccable presentation skills and the proven ability to tailor messages appropriately dependent on the specific audience.

  • Proven ability to describe technical solutions to non-technical audiences.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
