Description

The position is for a Database Developer with a focus on SQL and ETL work. This role will entail working with data warehouses and maintaining and manipulating databases to meet the needs of the company.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain SQL databases to ensure smooth operations within the company.

• Collaborate with other team members to identify data needs and deliver solutions.

• Develop and implement data warehouse programs to support the company's needs.

• Ensure the performance, security, and availability of the company's databases.

• Prepare documentations for database applications.

• Monitor system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting and integrating new features.

• Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development.

• Participate in all phases of the development life cycle with a focus on the design, development, and maintenance of SQL databases.

• Develop high-quality database solutions, and use In-memory OLTP for performance improvement.

• Develop and implement data models, database designs, data access and table maintenance codes.

Requirements • Proficiency in SQL is necessary for this role

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field is expected

• Previous experience in the insurance industry, specifically casualty insurance, would be advantageous

• Experience in developing, implementing and maintaining databases is required

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues

• Knowledge of data management and data processing flowcharting techniques

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Knowledge of data privacy and protection regulations is desirable

• Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding

• Understanding of mathematical foundations of relational databases and relational algebra

• Familiarity with database backup and recovery techniques

• Ability to provide on-call support as needed for database emergencies
