State of Massachusetts Residential Supervisor I in Peabody, Massachusetts

_This position is located in Peabody (will be relocating to North Andover in July)._ The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) would like to announce the availability of a full-time Residential Supervisor I position working in the Northeast Region for Northeast Residential Services. This position is responsible for the overall day to day management of the group home including supervision of all staff and individuals as assigned. _Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):_ * Will coordinate, implement, and supervise the administrative and clinical operations of the home, including residential program development. * Provide staff training and assess individuals’ needs, abilities, and resources to develop therapeutic programs in community living skills, participate in the interdisciplinary team, coordinate and participate in Individual Service Plan implementation. * Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment * Ensure the provision of appropriate individuals' services as indicated in Individual Service Plans * Implement and/or ensure compliance of policies, regulations, and procedures. * Promote principles of normalization and dignity and provide for the welfare of individuals by making personnel recommendations for hiring and promoting staff. * Supervise and evaluate support staff and maintain adequate staffing patterns. * Develop, implement, and maintain data collection and records. * Monitor and evaluate the physical operation and maintenance of the residence and monitor residential budgets, maintain individuals’ funds; assist individuals with expenditures and money management. * Act as a liaison to adjunct personnel, ensures effective communication between staff and performs related work as required. * *Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week Tuesday 8am-4:30pm Wednesday 11am-7:30pm Thursday 10am-6:30pm Friday 10am-6:30pm Saturday 7am - 3:30pm Days Off: *Sunday and Monday * This position is designated as an “EMERGENCY” Position in the Department of Developmental Service’s Emergency Plan. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: At least three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in counseling, guidance, teaching, or therapeutic services for individuals with developmental disabilities and/or chronic mental illness, of which at least one year must have been in either a supervisory capacity. SUBSTITUTIONS: A Bachelor's degree in social work, rehabilitation, psychology, sociology, human services, education of people with physical and/or learning disabilities may be substituted for two years of the required nonsupervisory experience on the basis of two years of education for one year of experience.. * A Master's or higher degree social work, rehabilitation, psychology, sociology, human services or education of people with physical and/or learning disabilities may be substituted for an additional year of the required nonsupervisory experience on the basis of two years of education for one year of experience. * One year of education equals 30 semester hours. Education toward a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed. * No substitution will be permitted for the required supervisory experience. LICENSES: Based on assignment, travel may be required. Those employees who elect to use a motor vehicle for travel must have a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator’s license or the equivalent from another state..
