Commander, Navy Installations MARINE MACHINERY MECHANIC HELPER (FORKLIST OPERATOR) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

Responsibilities You will assist marine machinery mechanics in the marine machinery repair processes on marine machinery and equipment e.g., YCs, YONs, YWOs, SWOBs and various other small craft and support equipment including preventive and corrective maintenance. You will operate a forklift to access and service the equipment in the proper position and location. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance of various types of harbor support equipment to include fender camels, separation brows and platforms. You will handle controls for starting, stopping, backings, and driving fork lift trucks through narrow aisles in building, up and down ramps, and in and out of railroad cars, trucks, planes, etc. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For Wage Grade This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1. Assist in the maintenance and repair of marine machinery equipment. 2. Ensures marine machinery and associated tools and equipment are in working order and stored using established methods and procedures. 3. The operator must know how high, wide, and long the fork lift truck and its load are, and how much the fork lift truck can lift.
