Responsibilities You will serve in the Nuclear Test Engineering Training Group, assisting in the training and qualification of Nuclear Test Engineers. You will have the opportunity to become a Subject Matter Expert in reactor and steam plant systems associated with Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plants. You will collaborate with other instructors to develop, review, and update course material on the design, operations, and testing of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plants. You will prepare, administer, and grade quizzes and exams in order to monitor and evaluate student progress. You will also provide counseling and corrective action for subpar performance. You will lead interactive classroom training sessions to build a sound knowledge base perspective test engineers will need to effectively conduct nuclear testing. You will conduct training on nuclear test procedures, support equipment, and administrative requirements for the Nuclear Engineering Department, Nuclear Production Shops, and Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant operators. You will use Reactor Control Room simulators as an interactive training platform to operationalize perspective test engineer’s knowledge to execute Operating and Casualty procedures to safely operate a Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant. You will have access to operational Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plants in the shipyard as a live training platform to conduct tours for student systems familiarization and walkthrough of operating and casualty procedures. You will serve as a technical advisor in your area of expertise to assist in the Shipyard's Emergency Control Center (ECC) which serves to coordinate available expertise to support Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant operators. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-12: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. GS-10: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. GS-09: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. GS-08: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. GS-06: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
