U.S. Navy - Agency Wide SHEET METAL MECHANIC LEADER (EXPERT) in Pearl Harbor Naval Base, Hawaii

Summary You will serve as a SHEET METAL MECHANIC LEADER (EXPERT) at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility in the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY. This position is located in Shop 99. Applicants will only be considered for positions within their own UIC. For example: If you are within UIC 4523A, you will only be considered for positions within 4523A. Responsibilities You will serve as a Leader Expert in the installation, maintenance, removal and modification of temporary shipboard ventilation and air conditioning distribution systems. You will serve as the subject matter expert performing inside shop work to fabricate, test, repair and/or install replacement parts for damaged vent ducts and other sheet metal components. You will ensure support is provided and coordinated on other temporary utility services to ships and submarines such as: shore power, industrial power, low pressure air and water. You will exercise leadership skills to mentor, train and demonstrate to others proper trade techniques and practices, safety precautions when operating machinery or equipment, and correct usage of precision instruments and measuring devices.
