THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Phoenix is seeking a highly motivated individual with experience in building maintenance and repair to join our team as a Corrections Maintenance Foreman. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Maintenance Foreman for the Department of Corrections (DOC), you will supervise inmate work crews in completing routine construction and maintenance work assignments in and around the correctional facility. Work assignments will include lawn care, snow removal, janitorial duties, and other general maintenance. Additional responsibilities include planning and assigning daily inmate schedules, inspecting completed work assignments and documenting inmate training progress, attendance, and assignment details. You will have the opportunity to provide instruction in the operation and preventative maintenance of machinery and vehicles. Maintaining order and discipline of inmates during work assignments is essential.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work; or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

    Legal Requirement:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
