THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services is seeking dedicated Custodial Workers to join our custodial staff at Wernersville State Hospital. In this role, you will provide custodial and linen distribution services across living units, offices, and various areas in over 10 buildings on our 266-bed campus. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will be responsible for the basic housekeeping needs of the hospital in designated areas. You will help maintain a clean, comfortable, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. It is essential to perform all tasks safely by adhering to established regulations and procedures to prevent accidents. You may also assist with shoveling snow, sweeping and cleaning walkways, and keeping the outside premises and building entrances tidy. As an essential employee, you will be required to report to work during emergencies and office closures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
This position includes rotating weekends and holidays as assigned.
Overtime and travel maybe required as needed.
May change based on operational needs.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
