THE POSITION

Bring your experience in electrical work to Clarks Summit State Hospital as an Electrician! The work you do will help the hospital maintain their goal of treating each patient and helping them return to their community. If you are a skilled and motivated individual who can apply your knowledge to help keep our hospital running smoothly, this is a great opportunity for you!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Electrician, you will perform skilled tasks in accordance with the standard practices of electrical trade and the National Electrical Code on all electrical equipment, systems, and fixtures in the hospital. Your duties will include checking all pump motors and compressors; lubricating, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment and lighting; and installing conduits, switchgears, and related controls. You will also be responsible for locating and correcting power failures and shorts in circuits. You can expect to upgrade and install new electrical panels and wiring to meet the needs of patients and staff. Additionally, you will inspect all electrical equipment according to schedule using proper inspection procedures and report any problems to your immediate supervisor.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch and a rotating weekend and holiday schedule. This may change based on operational need.

  • Travel and overtime as needed

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Electrician Trainee program (commonwealth title); or

  • Four years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, components, and equipment; or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training

    Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a valid license as a journey-level electrician issued by the local Pennsylvania jurisdiction.
