We have an immediate opportunity for an Electronics Repair Technician to join our team in the Greater Philadelphia area to test and perform electronic repairs on custom electrical equipment, ranging from the component level on printed circuit boards to rebuilding large electric drive motors. The Opportunity ... Uses diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes to determine cause of operating failure of customer-returned items. Makes repairable/non-repairable determinations. Performs in house repairs or modifications using such tools as soldering irons and other basic electronic hand tools. Writes detailed service reports. Responsible for repairing and providing in-depth analysis of in-house customer repairs. Facilitates information found during the course of repair to determine if design/component issues exist.. Makes warranty/non-warranty determinations. Maintains and updates current Work Instructions, to include creating new work instructions, in accordance with JBT standards and ISO 9001:2015 standards Communicates between multiple departments providing status updates and expected completion dates. Follows written procedures to set programming parameters and upload data into programmable devices. Tests electrical equipment. Trains coworkers on new tools and procedures. Why work at JBT ... Associate's degree (A. S.) in Electronics Technology or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2+ years’ experience in independently performing troubleshooting and repair on printed circuit board assemblies down to the component level using only a schematic as a reference. Prior experience performing repairs on electronic/electrical assemblies, including microcontrollers. Ability to read and interpret documents. Familiarity with electronic diagnostic and repair tools such as multimeters, oscilloscope, and basic electronics hand tools. Surface-mount and thru-hole soldering and de-soldering training or equivalent experience required. Soldering certification is a plus. Ability to read and comprehend electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Ability to travel, international and domestic. Current driver’s license.
