THE POSITION
Are you considering a fresh career path? If so, the Department of Transportation's Engineering District 10-0 Office could be your next step. We are on the lookout for a driven Engineering Technician to support the District Utility Administrator. This role includes a thorough 12-month training program, allowing you to engage in entry-level technical tasks across various engineering technology fields within the utility unit. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role represents an entry-level technical position focused on training across various engineering technology disciplines within the District's Utility Unit. During the training program, you will participate as a member of the utility unit, aiding in the utility coordination process. Responsibilities include reviewing diverse highway and bridge plans, right-of-way plot plans, and related drawings, as well as conducting virtual scoping field views for new projects. Additionally, you will be involved in assisting with the maintenance and updating of utility relocation data within the Utility Relocation Management System (URMS).

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Indiana.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
