THE POSITION

This Fiscal Management Specialist 2 position serves as a key member to the organization’s business analysis, budget, grant, and expenditures leadership within the Commonwealth. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you assist the Bureau of Laboratories (BOL) management with all fiscal matters related to running a public health laboratory. This includes budget preparation, revenue collection, expenditure monitoring, audits, budget and accounting adjustment requests, grant application and status report preparation, fiscal report preparation and analysis, and compliance with fiscal controls and expenditure limitations. With the assistance of experts within the Department of Health (DOH), you build and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of fiscal regulations, policies, and controls, and educates and advises BOL staff.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week

  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

  • You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Exton.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Fiscal Management Specialist 1;or

  • One year of experience in professional fiscal administration, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field;or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
