THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is looking for a Game Lands Maintenance Worker 1 to work out of Lawrence County in the Northwest Region. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

A Game Land Maintenance Worker 1 performs semi-skilled work in Pennsylvania game lands and assists with other duties. Work includes assisting with maintenance, repair, and construction of bridges, roads, parking areas, gates, posting signs, ranges, and more. You will also assist with mowing, habitat management, and other duties as needed. This includes, but is not limited to equipment maintenance, cutting timber stand improvement areas, and learning new techniques and methods for wildlife habitat management. Help manage the Commonwealth’s wildlife resources for the benefit of wildlife, hunters and trappers, visitors, and all Pennsylvanians with our team!

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week

  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of laboring experience using construction tools and equipment;or

  • One year of farming experience using agricultural tools and equipment;or

  • One year of construction equipment operation experience;or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Special Requirements:

  • You must possess an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.

  • You must obtain an active Class A Commercial Driver’s License within one year of employment in this job.

    Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
