DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Building Automation Systems (BAS) Operator, you will be monitoring and operating BA systems using established software navigation, testing procedures, and processes, identifying and recording operational problems, and reporting issues for resolution. Work involves performing scheduled preventative maintenance, testing, and routine repair duties on BA system hardware; running standard reports on system indicators and performance; and recommending and inputting approved adjustments to BA system software settings. You will have the opportunity to assist higher-level technicians and trades employees with installing and commissioning BA systems and diagnosing and resolving issues with BA system-controlled equipment and related systems.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

  • This position is considered essential. You will be required to report to work during emergencies and office closings.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) or refrigeration systems, related digitally controlled equipment, or BA systems;or

  • Completion of a three-year Vo-Tech training program in refrigeration, HVAC, or building automation and six months experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, related digitally controlled equipment, or BA systems;or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Special Requirements:

  • You must possess an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent.

  • You must obtain EPA Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification from an approved provider within 6 months of employment.

    Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

    Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Knowledge of the methods, practices, and materials involved in the operation and maintenance of equipment controlled by BA systems.

  • Knowledge of the use and functionality of BA system software.
