Nightwing is supporting a U.S. Government customer on a large mission critical development and sustainment program to design, build, deliver, and operate a network operations environment; including introducing new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats.

As a member of the Office of Chief Engineer (OCE), the Configuration Management Engineer works directly with the program’s Agile Release Train (ARTs) engineers to create and maintain configuration baselines (software, COTS/GOTS, development, test, production, etc.) used to support national-level mission critical cybersecurity capability development, and operations and maintenance activities. The Configuration Management Engineer uses or recommends automated CM tools to implement CM policies and procedures. Develops or modifies CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the developmental or operational system. Implements CM discipline for the entire life cycle of systems from initial requirements/capabilities baselines to system end-of-life. Performs change control and configuration audits.

Required skills:

U.S. Citizenship

Must be have a current TS clearance

Must have DHS Suitability

6+ years of directly relevant experience

Experience and/or familiarity with CM standards such as ISO, ITIL and CMMI.

Demonstrated ability to have documented and performed hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures.

Demonstrated ability to have defined and implemented hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures.

Ability to establish and maintain program's CM systems and document and software libraries

Demonstrated ability to develop and improve the program CM processes.

Demonstrated ability to provide CM process training to program team.

Communicate CM status to CM Management and Program Management.

Cloud experience (AWS and/or Azure preferred)

Desired skills include:

Experience and/or familiarity with Agile development methodology.

Experience and/or familiarity with one or more of the following: Perl, shell scripting, C++, C#, Java.

Experience and/or familiarity with one or more configuration management tool (e.g, ServiceNow, DOORS, CVS, Eclipse, Clearcase, Subversion, etc.).

Development experience with product build scripts and procedures and integrate scripts with the hardware and software build process.

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree in in Engineering, Math, Science, Information Technology or Business discipline is required. Eight (8) additional years of experience (for a total of fourteen (14) or more years) may be substituted for a degree.]

Desired Certifications:

DODI 8570.1-M Compliance at IAT Level I

Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)

AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner

Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
