Department of Defense Education Activity Supervisory Program Analyst in Pentagon, Virginia

Summary About the Position: The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Personnel Policy supports Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness as the proponent for all military personnel policies and programs regarding recruiting, retention, compensation, travel and related human resources support for 2.1 million active and reserve service members. Responsibilities Develop and analyze legislation and policies related to all Service members financial literacy and preparedness needs and issues within the Department of Defense (DoD). Oversee all actions during the execution of the Quadrennial Review of Military Compensation (QRMC). Serve as the subject matter expert for the department on QRMC processes and ensuring the department appropriately budgets for the next QRMC. Research and coordinate resolution of extremely complex time essential actions for Service members. Create database, reporting procedures, and data displays depicting the needs of Service members and programs responding to those needs. Maintain awareness of the financial education literature, findings, and emerging methods/technologies relevant to financial literacy training program evaluation. Perform a full range of first-level supervisory responsibilities; plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing and/or analyzing policies related to service members financial literacy and preparedness needs, evaluating programs addressing financial literacy and preparedness for service members and their families, maintaining awareness of financial education literature, findings, and/or emerging methods/technologies relevant to financial literacy training program evaluation, providing oversight and/or implementation of research and studies requirements similar to those provided by Federally funded research and development centers, and supervising employees and/or leading teams. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Financial Management Influencing/Negotiating Manages and Organizes Information Managing Human Resources Planning and Evaluating Research Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14). A writing sample may be required by management within the interview process.
