Caterpillar is looking for a Senior Manager Financial Planning & Analysis to add to our team! As an Senior Manager Financial Planning & Analysis at Caterpillar, you will manage and lead financial reporting and analysis for the Enterprise Aftermarket Parts FP&A Team, provide technical expertise, and perform complex accounting work that supports business processes. This position is an excellent opportunity to learn more about Aftermarket Parts and projects that support our Services Initiatives. You will be exposed to a variety of accounting functions and complex and/or technical analysis, review various outputs for reasonableness with upper Management, work with other accountants in our own organization, as well as across the Enterprise.
What You Will Do:
Lead internal Management Accounting, such as actual results, quarterly RBM, and annual business planning
Estimating various forecast and budget scenarios as needed based on changing business conditions.
Financial accounting including consolidation of division results/explanations and variance analysis.
Presentation and explanation of results to management.
Lead Aftermarket Parts integration into Global Finance strategic initiatives.
Producing accurate and timely financial reports, for internal and external use, in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
Preparing or leading preparation of reports which summarize and forecast business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on past, present and expected operations.
Ensuring the accounting policies and practices of the organization are followed; working closely with internal auditors, public accountants, federal tax examiners, and other financial professionals ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.
Overseeing and evaluating the activities of the accounting staff, and providing for their professional development; analyzing and solving accounting problems.
What You Have:
Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Business Acumen: Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
Judgment and Decision Making: Knowledge of the decision-making process; ability to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward communicating actions and activities that maximize organizational performance.
Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.
Organizational Governance: Knowledge of the processes, customs, policies, and rules affecting the way the organization is administered and controlled; ability to ensure compliance with governance guidelines and policies.
Additional Details:
This role can be located in our Peoria, IL or Irving, TX office
This role is a full time, hybrid position and currently requires 3 days a week in office
Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify.
