About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our busy and friendly Perth Mechanical team. The role is suitable for an upcoming candidate ideally with 2 years Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) design experience on building projects.

You'll be supported working on a wide range of projects and get opportunities to attend regular design and client facing meetings and industry events to expand your consulting skills.

We are currently working on a wide range of health care, commercial, retail, defence, industrial and educational building projects.

Day to day tasks would involve:

  • Produce HVAC designs in accordance with code and company quality standards

  • Develop HVAC Engineering, heat load calculations, equipment and reticulation sizing and selection, coordination, and documentation

  • Provide clear direction to drafters and site contractors

  • Represent Stantec externally to Clients, managing these relationships and generate repeat business by providing a focus on client satisfaction.

  • Bring value to in-house design/project meetings

  • Provide positive contributions to our team culture

  • Adhere to Stantec professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures

To be successful for this role you'll need:

  • Hold a Mechanical Engineering Degree

  • Ideally have 5 years mechanical (HVAC) consulting engineering experience in the Building Services industry

  • Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards

  • Working knowledge of Revit and other software

  • Experience in planning and managing projects

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines

  • Positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic

  • A willingness to learn and adhere to Stantec’s professional & ethics standards and quality procedures
