The Community Navigator will be responsible for the facilitation of peer-led interventions being tested by the Temple University Collaborative on Community Inclusion. This is a full-time position. Essential functions: Engage in peer support; explore community resources; co-develop goals with individuals with mental health conditions to engage in desired community participation as a part of their recovery journey; Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience: Certified as a Peer Support Specialist through the PA Certification Board and experience providing community-based peer support with individuals who have mental health conditions in their recovery journey. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities: Skills in implementing person-centered community support. *Ability and comfort using Philadelphia public transportation (SEPTA) and riding a bike in an urban setting. *Ability to support and promote participants to engage in self-directed access and use of community resources. *Ability to provide culturally responsive peer support to individuals in the Philadelphia community. *Interest in contributing to rehabilitation research. *Ability to work in a team environment and participate in regular supervision sessions. *Strong written and oral communication skills. *Ability to work independently. *Ability to operate all standard office equipment and software including MS Office. *Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse populations of students, faculty, staff, program participants, and mental health providers. *Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and planning. *Ability to practice national peer support core competencies and values with participants while navigating community resources. *Ability to share life experiences of recovery through community participation and promote community participation with participants. *Willingness and ability to develop and implement on-going continued education plan in collaboration with supervisor Preferred: *Experience supporting adults with mental health conditions to set goals and access resources in the community for their individualized recovery journey. This position requires a background check. This is a grant funded position. Please note this position will temporarily work remotely, the duration of remote work will be at the discretion of Temple University and the department. or This position is temporarily assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
