The Director of Finance will be responsible for the management of leading monthly accounting, forecast & reporting processes to ensure that Corporate, Business Unit, and Site timelines and objectives are met. This position will also maintain the effectiveness of the financial controls for corporate governance and SOX compliance. The Director of Finance is expected to learn about and gain a deep understanding of Catalent accounting policies as well as site policies and processes to ensure the financial statements are accurately reflected. The successful candidate will find efficiencies in our processes and continuous improvement is expected. This role will establish metrics, performance to the budget, forecast, and ad hoc financial/operational analyses related to fixed asset purchases, base cost management, working capital management, headcount control, and operational performance. Revenue Recognition expertise is required in accordance with GAAP.

The Role:

  • Prepare Management presentation material and present for monthly forecast/close meetings, Operations Review meetings, and QBRs

  • Perform/review monthly variance review of income statement

  • Proactively identify, analyze and present financial reporting and analysis in an accurate and timely manner to Site and Functional leaders.

  • Contribute to weekly Revenue and income forecast process with Business Unit

  • Recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, reduce costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain state-of-the-art practices.

  • With Operations, prepare economic analysis for Capital Requests

  • Lead annual Site and Functional Budget process including development/analysis of budget targets, developing, communicating and driving the budget timeline, creating budget templates, creating/maintaining budget roll-up files, preparing budget deliverables for Site Management and Business Unit Leadership Team.

  • Review monthly the balance sheet and its components. Participate with Shared Services to monitor the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable balances.

  • Works with VP Finance to build 5 year strategic plan, coordinates and supports the execution at the facility as required.

  • Domestic travel to Headquarters or other sites (less than 5% travel).

The Candidate

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting OR Finance from an accredited institution.

  • Prefer CPA &/or MBA and experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desired.

  • 10+ years progressive experience in the Finance/Accounting field

  • Demonstrated leadership experience. 5-10 years supervisory experience or equivalent cross-functional project leadership.

  • Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards preferred) and cost accounting

  • Experience with planning and financial consolidation systems, such as OneStream

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with all levels of management and with all levels of finance expertise

  • Understanding of manufacturing cost accounting

  • Outstanding management skills; able to establish and focus on key priorities.
