Description:

The Emergency Department physician assistant is a health care provider who, working collaboratively within the healthcare team, is responsible for providing care to both well and ill patients. The Emergency Department Physician assistant educates patients and/or their families in order to promote wellness, prevent health problems, maintain current health and intervene in acute or chronic illness. The ED physician assistant seeks opportunities for professional growth through participation in continuing education, staff development and hospital committees. The ED Physician Assistant maintains board certification and state licensure and stays current on the evaluation and management of medical and surgical conditions as applicable to the ED patient.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Candidate must be organized and able to lead and manage a team.

Demonstrates ability to use problem solving, critical thinking and priority setting skills.

Ability to perform diversified duties with time limitations with a high degree of accuracy.

Computer skills preferred.

Prior clinical experience preferred Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice. Extensive knowledge of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology and management of acute and chronic patient/family problems.

Requirements:

Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program

Certification by the NCCPA with successful PANCE examination completion.

License or eligible for licensing as a Physician's Assistant in the State of PA.

CPR and ACLS Certification, Credentialed at hospital site of practice
