Our client, a leader in the manufacturing of high-quality Pilates equipment, is seeking a Manual Machinist to join their team. As a Manual Machinist, you will be part of the Metal Shop supporting the Assembly team. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Manual Machinist
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Pay Range: $28 - $34
Hours: 7am-3:30pm Monday to Friday
What's the Job?
Independently set up and operate manual mills and lathes to produce precision parts for Pilates equipment, adhering to strict quality standards.
Machine components from various materials, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, to exact specifications as outlined in engineering blueprints and technical sketches.
Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify dimensions and ensure all parts meet required tolerances.
Read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings to plan machining operations effectively.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
What's Needed?
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a manual machinist, with a focus on mill and lathe operations.
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a machinist apprenticeship or vocational training program is preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of manual machining methods, shop practices, and procedures.
Proficiency in advanced shop mathematics and precision measurement.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods.
