Job Title: Operations Technology Engineer

Location: Rockford, IL o r Philadelphia, PA (Global Role)

Required Traveling: 50% of traveling for the first 12 months

Job Summary: The Operations Technology Engineer is responsible for overseeing the infrastructure and operations of PCI’s MES system within the organization. This role involves strategic planning, implementation, management global rollout of a new MES technology standard across all PCI commercial operational sites, to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and scalability. The engineer will lead a team of local SME’s and work closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration and alignment of technology with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement MES/OT: Develop and implement a comprehensive MES / OT technology strategy that aligns with the company’s operational goals and objectives.

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage local site level engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment between OT and other global and site level departments.

  • Technology Management: Oversee the implementation, and maintenance of Spark MES on the Ignition platform utilizing PI Data Historian suite by AVEVA Software. Includes integrating the MES system into various PLC’s, HMI’s, and other packaging equipment utilizing OPC, ensuring they meet the needs of the organization.

  • Project Management: Oversee technology projects from inception to completion, including set-up and configuring the MES system, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness and provide MES data to local maintenance and engineering groups to drive line process improvements.

  • Budget Management: Assist in developing the operational technology budget, ensuring cost-effective hardware and software solutions to support extraction and aggregation of data from PCI’s equipment while adhering to financial constraints.

  • Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with technology vendors and service providers, and ensuring service level agreements are met.

  • Security and Compliance: Ensure the security and compliance of technology systems, including data protection and regulatory requirements.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to understand their technology needs and provide solutions that support their goals.

Qualifications:

Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Industrial Controls, or a related field;

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in MES or OT management.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent strategic planning and project management abilities.

  • In-depth knowledge of technology systems and infrastructure.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage budgets and financial plans.

  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the operations or manufacturing, life sciences industry.
