The Pre-Award Administrator will provide essential support in the grant pre-award process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to both internal and external regulations. This role involves coordinating and managing the preparation, review, and submission of grant applications, maintaining regulatory compliance, and collaborating with faculty and associate dean for research to facilitate the pre-award process. Essential functions: * Assists in the end-to-end pre-award grant administration, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all required documents. Reviews and analyzes grant applications for completeness and alignment with regulatory and institutional guidelines. * Monitors relevant internal and external regulations to ensure the organization remains compliant throughout the pre-award process. Implements updates as necessary to maintain compliance standards. * Aids in the preparation of personnel reports, budget reports, and financial statements to support accurate financial planning and reporting. Ensures budget proposals align with project goals and funding requirements. * Implements policies and procedures to streamline pre-award activities, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in grant preparation and submission. * Provides critical administrative assistance to the Associate Dean for Research, including organizing regular meetings, coordinating deadlines, and supporting workflow to optimize pre-award operations. * Works with and supports faculty to gather necessary information and ensure all components of grant applications are completed accurately, effectively, and on time. * Assists in reviewing contracts and related documents for pre-award activities, ensuring terms are consistent with project needs and institutional policies. * Creates and maintains accurate records and filing systems for all pre-award documents, enabling efficient tracking and retrieval of information as needed. * Serves as a liaison between PIs and university entities such as sponsored programs and the office of general counsel to facilitate other research related activities including setting up Materials Transfer Agreements and MOUs. * Performs other related tasks as assigned to support the organization's pre-award functions, compliance, and operational success.

Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree, and at least two years of experience in grant administration in an academic/research environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities: *Demonstrated computer skills, and proficiency with spreadsheet and database software programs. *Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of research pre- procedures and requirements. *Demonstrated knowledge of project budgeting and fiscal management. *Strong verbal and written communication skills. *Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, along with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of inter and intra-university personnel. *Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills. *Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills, along with the ability to work under tight eadlines.
