PRIMARY FUNCTION: The position will provide behavioral health evaluations, acute therapy and support services for house staff at the Emotional Health and Wellness Program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: bull; Provides comprehensive assessment, interventions, individual therapy, couples therapy, group therapy and other psychosocial treatment modalities. bull; Provides effective treatment planning and assists patients in successfully achieving goals. bull; Develops and participates in outreach, wellness, and psychoeducational programming to the campus community. bull; Develops quality improvement and research projects aimed at improving the well-being of house staff. bull; Provide care management services as needed for house staff. bull; Conduct preventative care wellness check-ins for all house staff, responsible for planning, data collection, and linkage to follow up care. bull; Evening hours are necessary, at least 3 evenings per week. bull; Individual and team approach in managing crisis situations. bull; Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iSCORE values of Jefferson.
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND COMPETENCIES: bull; Maintains a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality within the Department bull; Maintains working knowledge of best practices in the field of resident physician mental health bull; Works collaboratively with counseling services staff and graduate medical education partners,documents accurately within the medical record of patients as well as other forms to meet city, state and federal regulatory requirements bull; Develops outreach programming for house staff and faculty bull; Conducts mental health trainings for house staff and facul y
EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Doctorate in Psychology (Ph.D or Psy.D.)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION: Ph.D. or Psy.D. licensed in the state of Pennsylvania (additional licensing in NJ and DE preferred)
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of one year of experience in a behavioral health setting is required. Prefer three or more years of outpatient clinical behavioral health experience. Experience in graduate and postgraduate counseling preferred.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Provides care that is appropriate to the specific chronological age, developmental age, social maturity and cultural background of the patients being treated.
Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
