L3Harris Senior Manager, Demand Planning and SIOP in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

As a Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) Leader, you will play a crucial role in developing and leading the SIOP and demand planning processes across several manufacturing facilities within a sector or division. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining demand plans and forecasts and balancing these plans with the site supply plans, master schedules, and build plans. This role will oversee and lead the SIOP cycle (Demand, Supply, Reconciliation, and Executive Review) and ensure a seamless flow of communication and data into the operations, supply chain, and planning teams. This position will be integral in providing visibility to all demand and driving strategic and proactive downstream planning execution, all while ensuring cross-functional alignment through timely reviews and decisions to meet operational and financial objectives. This position will require a close partnership with the BD and PM teams to effectively manage demand at each site and ensure the downstream functions/processes are being fed clean, accurate, and timely information and data.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and facilitate the four stages of the SIOP process – Demand Plan Meeting, Supply Plan Meeting, Reconciliation Meeting, and Executive Meeting – ensuring alignment between demand, supply, financial, and strategic plans while driving effective decision making and execution to these plans.

  • Develop, maintain, and track key performance metrics and reports related to SIOP and demand execution and effectiveness.

  • Leads a group of demand planners to develop/maintain demand plans, conduct demand related analysis, build forecasts by product group, and partner with BD, Programs, and Finance on new contracts, awards, changes to demand, etc.

  • Collaborate with Business Development, Program Management Office, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to gather inputs, analyze data, and develop consensus-based demand and supply plans.

  • Provide the inputs for an effective master production schedule that considers production capacities, material availability, and material demand, optimizing resource utilization and minimizing lead times.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams throughout the SIOP process, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Monitor key performance metrics and performance against SIOP targets, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.

  • Support new product development (NPD) projects by providing input on demand forecasting, production planning, and inventory management requirements.

  • Drive process improvements and system enhancements to optimize planning and scheduling processes, leveraging the capabilities of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.

  • Communicate SIOP outcomes, recommendations, and action plans to executive leadership, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

  • 5+ years in operations, manufacturing, or planning type roles

  • Proven experience in SIOP leadership or a similar role within the aerospace and defense industry, supporting multiple sites.

  • Deep understanding of Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) processes, methodologies, and best practices.

  • Experience in facilitating cross-functional meetings and driving consensus-based decision-making.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other planning tools.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Proficiency in utilizing MRP systems and related planning tools.

  • Demonstrated expertise in master scheduling, capacity planning, production planning, and inventory management

  • Strong organization and relationship management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Self-starter and ability to take initiative.

  • Ability to lead and influence others, driving alignment and consensus.

  • Proactive and results-oriented approach with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Flexibility to travel occasionally to different sites as required.

  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
