Reference #: 20003070DescriptionThe Senior Research Associate in the Lewis Katz School ofMedicine's Pulmonary/Critical Care/SleepMed department provides comprehensivesenior level coordination of the research activities.Responsibilities include providing complex technicalassistance to principal investigators in support of various researchactivities; autonomously managing the day-to-day research activities, such as:designing and planning research studies, and overseeing general datacollection; serving as an authoritative source on research practices,precedents, theory, and principles; ensuring all projects are completed in atimely fashion; acting as a liaison with funding agencies, analyzing data,setting research standards, coordinating project requirements; establishingpolicies and procedures for a division/sub-unit; ensuring staff adheres to allpolicies, procedures, and professional standards within the division/sub-unit;establishing strategic objectives for division/sub-unit and providing inputinto divisional strategies based on functional expertise; identifying andanalyzing complex problems requiring in-depth technical knowledge andexperience in a specific area or discipline; selecting an appropriate course ofaction that requires independent judgment and typically involves change orinnovation in existing procedures or techniques. In addition, the SeniorResearch Associate makes complex decisions within broad guidelines; establishessolid relationships with internal and external contacts in order to assesscustomers' longer-term needs; acts as a communication conduit on matters ofoperational and strategic importance; and occasionally make formalpresentations to customer groups; establishes priorities, provides training andfeedback, and ensures proper planning of all projects and that they arecompleted in a timely fashion. Performs other relatedduties as assigned.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in life science, health professions orrelated field and at least four years of directly related research experienceworking with human subjects.
