Summary:

  • This position is responsible for the management and integrity of the perpetual inventory storeroom and related par stock locations. Reporting to the Associate Director the Inventory Manager represent the Associate Director when needed. Will oversee a 3 shift operations. Manage InFor Materials System, complex perpetual operation and replenishment of storeroom supplies. A critical part of this position is product backorder and substitute management. Collaborating with all levels of hospital leadership. Accurate communication of supply chain problems. Understand the financial impact of perpetual inventory has on the P & L. Work closely with Corporate Purchasing on pricing and contracts.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that inventory requisitions (RQ10) are accurate and reflective of usage and that backorders are managed to include authorizing drop shipments.

  • Will obtain substitute products, communicating to customers order status and obtaining products through alternate distributors/manufacturers.

  • Ensure that cycle counts are completed at routine intervals and that count variances are identified, addressed and resolved.

  • Oversees inventory operations management on all three shifts.

  • This position will ensure that all activities within the storeroom follow the Penn Medicine Materials Policies and Procedures.

  • Analyzing Distributor/Vendor data to identify opportunities and present them in an professional manner to the Corporate Purchasing as an opportunity for the entire system.

  • Maintain an accurate, on-line catalog of storeroom supplies and will be responsible for communicating all item add/deletes to customers and staff.

  • Efficient/effective requisitioning of inventory supplies.

  • Monitors inventory counts and reports and corrects discrepancies.

  • Maintains/monitors inventory data base to insure item set-up is accurate.

  • Establishes/ maintains adequate locations for inventory.

  • Significant Direct Report Staff Management.

  • Monitors stock levels to reduce overstocking and stock outs and monitors rotation of stock and reports issues related to improper stock mgmt.

  • Ensure all Customer Services are of the highest standard.

  • Ensures optimum unit of purchase and issue is utilized and routine cycle count is performed.

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)

  • 4+ years Healthcare experience required.

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science preferred.
